I hired A Tasteful Affair from Seattle to cater my wedding. It was something of an act of faith, since I was not able to meet them ahead of time, or arrange a tasting. It could have gone very poorly -- but the only thing they failed to do was disappoint me.

I absolutely got more than I paid for. My partner and I decided on disposable plates to save money...A Tasteful Affair showed up with beautiful china instead. They decorated beautifully, having obviously read my mind, since my exact instructions were "Oh, I don't know...something colorful, I guess." And the entire staff was so friendly and personable, fitting so seamlessly in my wedding that they became instant family.

Food is extremely important to me, so I was hoping for the best and fearing the worst. But when I arrived to my reception, and a server handed me a sausage stuffed mushroom, all of my worries fell away. That mushroom was a thing of beauty. I don't think I ate anything that day that was anything less. I really wanted a unique menu with fairly casual food; instead of a chicken option and a beef option, I had a colorful Mexican-Italian buffet with carne asada, cheese enchiladas, and a chicken asiago penne that had me licking my plate. They never questioned my desires, only engineered their happening.

Seriously, A Tasteful Affair was the difference between a great wedding and an absolutely fantastic wedding for me. A good Yelp review is not even remotely enough to thank them.

We hired A Tasteful Affair and Chef Kevin for a fundraiser. We're not very organized, being new to the whole "trying to throw a big fundraiser" game, and Chef Kevin was so very gracious about helping us out and giving us really great advice about the food options. Our event raised funds to build a hospital on the edge of a national park/rainforest in Kalimantan, Indonesia - and Chef Kevin came up with Indonesian hors d'oeuvres for us! His entire staff was friendly, spirited and friendly, and at the same time incredibly professional. And the food - oh my god it was unbelievably great! How do you make a single bite of fruit, served in an Asian spoon, taste like an entire party going on in your mouth? I don't know, but they did it! How do you make tempeh into an Indonesian-inspired bite? I don't know, but they did it! Chef Kevin's "chief of staff" of the servers (I don't remember his name) kept us from serving some sub-par wine which had been donated, saving us a lot of embarrassment. And all night I had guests tell me how very impressed they were by the food. I really cannot say enough about how perfectly Tasteful Affair treated us - I'd hire them again without thinking twice. I can't wait to plan another event so that I can do just that!

All I can say is WOW! They catered my son's wedding. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic! As wedding time approached we had a number of ceremony problems, but Chef Kevin and his team reacted beautifully. They did a lot of extra little things for which they weren't paid because they wanted the event as a whole to be wonderful. I've worked with a number of caterers for business events but i can't remember any of them taking as much pride in their work as A Tasteful Affair -- truly a wonderful job.

Thank you so very, very much for all of your hard work in making our wedding on May 21st an event to remember! It was absolutely everything that we had hoped for and more, and I cannot believe the amazing quality of the food and the service that you provided. We really had a tough time settling on a caterer in the first place (it's tough to make an important decision like that from halfway across the country!), but after our tasting with Chef Kevin we really felt that we had made the right choice. Still, we knew we couldn't expect the food to be quite as good when 175 servings had to be prepared and served at the same time. The feedback from our guests (and our own tastebuds) proved us wrong and made us realize once again that we had absolutely made the right choice, and that yes, wedding food can be amazing and delicious! I think the most frequent comment that I heard from guests all night was that they just could not believe how good the food was. The chicken and the steak were both prepared perfectly. I also think that every single person who ordered a vegetarian meal came up and told me how great it was that we had "gourmet vegetarian" instead of just a bland pasta option. Furthermore, the service was stellar. All of your staff were professional, friendly, and everything was served and cleared quickly and exactly as requested. I know your staff also helped to set up the room, which looked amazing when everyone walked in. And of course, your work tending bar for our wild friends was commendable. When we heard later what people had been drinking, we suspected that your staff must have had to run and wash glasses in order to not run out... but the fact that we don't really know whether you did or not speaks volumes about how you pulled everything off flawlessly without us even knowing about it. Oh yes, I also heard a rumor that we ran out of our signature sangria, and that you sent staff out to buy more ingredients and prepare more. I really was shocked to hear that you would do that for us; truly, I don't believe that it is typical for a caterer to work so hard to make sure that an event comes together perfectly and in a way that makes the hosts look so good!

I should also mention what a pleasure it was working with the two of you all along; how quickly you responded to all of my questions, and how you were so willing to accommodate any off-the-wall request graciously and skillfully. Every time I talked to you I felt much calmer about the whole planning process... which is saying a lot!

We had many vendors who worked very hard to make our day special, but A Tasteful Affair, I think, "takes the cake"! You truly went above and beyond. I would be so pleased to recommend you to anyone, or to provide a testimonial or review if you could use something like that.

Again, it's been a pleasure, and I hope our paths cross again in the future!

Thank you, to you and your staff, for being such an important part of the success of our company picnic on 9/14. Your staff was very presentable and enjoyable to work with. The presentation of the food was beautiful. And the food was outstanding! Every one of m employees has made a point of telling me how much they loved the food. The guacamole was "killer." The mixed green salad was "to die for." And the grilled chicken and grilled veggies were "out-of-this-world good." Again - Thank you for being a part of our company picnic.
